The Like a Dragon: Yakuza series has premiered on Prime Video, but the first three episodes have left fans disappointed. The rating is just 4 out of 10 on IGN, and critics are not impressed either. Many fans, who feared Prime Video wouldn't be able to make a proper adaptation, were right.

The series has turned into a drawn-out and dull melodrama with an absurd plot, which seems strange even compared to the game itself. Moreover, the creators missed the unique tone of the franchise—the very spirit of the original that fans love. And not including karaoke in the show? That’s just a slap in the face to the fans…

The remaining three episodes will be released next week, but expectations are already low. It looks like the collection of failed video game adaptations has gained another entry.
