🐒 Hey, OGCommunity! Time for some hot news:
A triumph of Chinese gamedev -- Black Myth: Wukong becomes the game of the year at the Golden Joystick Awards!
Black Myth: Wukong has predictably taken home the "Game of the Year" title at the Golden Joystick Awards 2024! The action-adventure from Chinese studio Game Science beat out several major releases, proving that unique storytelling and bold ideas are still highly valued.
Meanwhile, Astro Bot earned just two "Golden Joysticks" out of its six nominations. Two prizes also went to the poker roguelike Balatro. Unsurprisingly, the winner for "Most Anticipated Game" was Grand Theft Auto VI. Unfortunately, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, despite being nominated in four categories, walked away empty-handed.
A quick reminder: the Golden Joystick Awards is the second most prestigious gaming award after The Game Awards. What sets it apart is that winners in most categories are chosen by player votes.
What do you think, OGCommunity? Do you agree with this award?
