⚽ Hey, OGCommunity! Time for some hot news:
FIFA and Konami announced a partnership - the parties will organize a cybersport tournament FIFAe World Cup on the basis of free-to-play eFootball.
Cooperation between FIFA and Konami will start with two competitions - one on PlayStation consoles and the other on mobile devices. Qualifying matches start today - it is necessary to pass 3 rounds in Dream Team mode. Representatives of 18 countries can participate in the championship, and the main part of the tournament will be held later in 2024.
Recall, earlier FIFA cooperated with Electronic Arts for almost 30 years, but their paths parted due to a conflict with the license, after which the legendary FIFA series received a new name - EA Sports FC. As for Konami, its Pro Evolution Soccer series was EA's main competitor to FIFA for a long time. However, in 2021, the developers presented a reimagined eFootball, which, unlike its competitors, does not re-release the same game every year with a new price tag, but releases regular updates.
